The research not otherwise attributed is my own. The Yosemite Commission was created to administer the Yosemite Grant, the commemoration event for which I participated in today at the Mariposa Grove of Big Trees. My little research paper may be helpful for those of you wanting to know which commissioners served when, who they were, and what they were about. It also makes an interesting read for those of you interested in the personalities involved with running Yosemite Valley and the Big Trees during the 19th Century.
