Mark Flanagan passed away on Thursday, November 8, from a diabetes related attack. Mark worked at the hotel front desk for some years before he transferred to the Mariposa Grove gift store. Winters he worked at Badger Pass, Yosemite, as a ski instructor. He was much loved by his fellow employees, ski students, visitors to the park and guests at the Wawona Hotel. Mark had a special way with children, who liked to have him draw their "portraits" -- pictured below is an original Flanagan Portrait, as he enchants yet another young guest at the front desk. He is deeply missed.
